TYSON, Netflix’s four-part documentary told in Mike Tyson’s own words, is streaming now — all four episodes landed worldwide, including everywhere in the United States, on October 13, 2026. You need a Netflix subscription to watch, starting at $8.99 a month for the ad-supported plan.

Netflix dropped the complete series at once at its usual release time of 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET, so there is no weekly wait: every episode is already live. Here is exactly where to watch, what it costs, and what the series actually covers.

Where to watch TYSON in the US

TYSON streams exclusively on Netflix in the United States. There is no theatrical run and no second platform — an active Netflix account is the only way to see it. The series is not sold or rented anywhere, so a subscription is the single entry point.

Release date and start time

All four episodes went live on October 13th at 12:00 a.m. Pacific, which is 3:00 a.m. Eastern. Netflix released the series as a full binge rather than a weekly rollout, and each episode runs roughly an hour, for about four hours total. Because everything is already on the platform, you can start whenever you want.

How much it costs

Watching TYSON means paying for one of Netflix’s three US plans:

  • Standard with ads — $8.99/month: 1080p streaming on up to two devices at once, with commercial breaks.
  • Standard — $19.99/month: ad-free, 1080p, two simultaneous screens, and one paid extra-member slot.
  • Premium — $26.99/month: the only tier with 4K Ultra HD and HDR, four simultaneous streams, and up to two extra members.

Those are the rates Netflix set after its March 2026 US price increase. The service bills monthly and does not offer an annual US plan, so the ad tier at $8.99 is the cheapest legitimate way in.

What TYSON is about

This is Tyson narrating his own life. Across four episodes, the series traces his chaotic childhood in Brooklyn, his meteoric rise to become the youngest heavyweight champion in history, and the long fallout of that fame — the excess, the convictions, the prison sentence, and the controversies that followed him for decades, including the 1997 bite that cost Evander Holyfield part of an ear.

Director Floyd Russ built the series around fresh interviews with Tyson alongside archival footage and access to his family and closest confidants. The executive producers include sportscaster Jim Gray, Ian Orefice, and Bill Simmons, and the project comes from the team behind Netflix’s American Manhunt: O.J. Simpson. The approach is less a highlight reel than an attempt to sit with the cost of the chaos — the trailer leans hard into Tyson describing himself as addicted to it.

The four episodes move chronologically, so there is a natural arc rather than a themed anthology. The early hour or so stays with the Brownsville kid who was arrested dozens of times before he was a teenager and the trainer, Cus D’Amato, who reshaped him. The middle stretch covers the title run and the fame that came with it; the back half deals with the collapse — the Robin Givens marriage, the 1992 rape conviction and prison term, the Holyfield fights — and the decades of trying to make sense of all of it.

Do you need to watch anything first?

No. TYSON is a standalone documentary that assumes no prior viewing. It is worth noting, though, that this is not Netflix’s first Tyson project: the platform streamed the Jake Paul versus Mike Tyson fight live in November 2024, a broadcast that drew a record audience and clearly left the service interested in telling the fuller story. If you want the scripted version of his life instead, the 2022 series Mike covers similar events as drama, though it is not a Netflix title.

The official trailer gives a clear sense of the tone:

A companion special is coming next month

If four hours is not enough, Netflix has a second Tyson title on the way. Mike Tyson: Return of the Mike, a filmed version of his one-man stage show, is set to stream on November 3, 2026. It is a separate release from the docuseries, but it covers similar ground in Tyson’s own voice, this time in front of a live audience.

Frequently asked questions

How many episodes of TYSON are there?

Four, each running about an hour. All of them are available now; Netflix did not space them out week to week.

Is TYSON available in the US?

Yes. The series premiered globally on October 13, 2026, and is streaming on Netflix across the United States.

Do I need the Premium plan to watch it?

No. TYSON is available on every Netflix tier, including the $8.99 Standard with ads plan. Premium only changes streaming quality and the number of simultaneous screens, not access to the title.

Is there a trailer?

Yes. Netflix released the official trailer on September 17, 2026, and it is embedded above.

What is the difference between TYSON and Mike Tyson: Return of the Mike?

TYSON is the four-part documentary streaming now. Mike Tyson: Return of the Mike is a filmed one-man stage show arriving November 3, 2026 — a separate Netflix release.
