Status: Renewed. All of Us Are Dead Season 2 has finished filming and is now in post-production, and while Netflix has not set an official premiere date, the Korean zombie hit is widely expected to return in early 2027.

If you have been waiting since 2022 for the survivors of Hyosan High to come back, the long gap is finally closing. Here is exactly where Season 2 stands right now — what is locked, what is still rumor, and when you can realistically expect it on Netflix in the US.

Is All of Us Are Dead Season 2 officially happening?

Yes. Netflix renewed the series in June 2022, just days after the first season exploded into a global phenomenon. The hold-up was never commitment — it was production. Cameras did not start rolling until July 23, 2025, and shooting continued all the way through February 19, 2026, a schedule stretched in part by the season’s heavy visual-effects workload.

With photography wrapped, Netflix Korea used the milestone to confirm the full Season 2 cast and to position the show as a centerpiece of the service’s tenth-anniversary celebrations in the country. In short, this is no longer a question of “if.” Season 2 is real; it is simply being finished.

Why has the wait been so long?

Part of the answer is scale. The first season was adapted from the webtoon Now at Our School and built around sprawling set pieces — a high school overrun by the infected, rooftop escapes, a city-wide quarantine — that lean hard on stunts and effects. A sequel of the same ambition takes time to shoot and even longer to finish in post-production.

The other factor is timing. Cast scheduling, a writers’ room determined to take the story somewhere new, and a broader production slowdown all pushed the start date back more than once. The result is a roughly five-year gap between seasons, long by any standard but not unusual for an effects-driven Korean tentpole.

When will Season 2 premiere on Netflix?

No official release date has been announced. The most credible expectation points to early 2027 — most likely January or February — roughly five years after the original season landed.

Two signals support that window. First, the series was left off Netflix’s 2026 Korean content slate, which effectively rules out a release in the coming weeks. Second, post-production on an effects-heavy zombie series of this scale normally runs many months past a February wrap.

You may run across social-media posts floating a December 2026 launch. Treat those as optimistic rumor, not fact: no credible report has confirmed a 2026 date. Until Netflix says otherwise, early 2027 is the honest answer, and we will update this guide the moment a date is official.

Who is coming back?

Netflix Korea says it has confirmed the complete Season 2 ensemble, built around the students who made it out of Hyosan alive. The first season ended on a pivotal twist: the emergence of “halfbies,” survivors bitten by the virus who neither died nor fully turned. That unresolved mutation is the clearest hook for the new chapter, and the characters tied to it are the ones to watch.

Netflix is still holding individual character details close, so we are not listing specifics it has not confirmed. Expect a mix of returning survivors and new faces when the streamer releases a full breakdown.

What could Season 2 be about?

Because Netflix has not published a synopsis, anything beyond the setup is guesswork rather than reporting. What we can say is that the first season closed on an open question — what becomes of the halfbies, and whether the Hyosan outbreak can truly be contained. Season 2 is positioned to pick up in that aftermath. The finale already pushed the story past the school walls, so the sequel could widen its scope to the surrounding city and the government’s response.

How big was Season 1?

Big enough to make the wait worth tracking. When it premiered in January 2022, All of Us Are Dead shot to No. 1 on Netflix in dozens of countries and sat in the global Top 10 for weeks, joining Squid Game and Kingdom as proof that Korean genre TV could travel anywhere. That track record is exactly why Netflix kept the sequel alive through years of delays.

Where to watch while you wait

All 12 episodes of Season 1 are streaming now on Netflix in the US, included with any subscription — the fastest way to refresh before the sequel arrives. When Season 2 does land, it will drop worldwide on the same day, so US viewers will not have to wait for a separate rollout.
