The story
June moves to Milan after her brother’s death and enrolls at an elite international school, looking for a clean start. She meets Will, an honor student who offers something steadier than what she left behind — and the film works the gap between grief and the temptation to rebuild an identity from scratch.
It is a Roger Kumble film, which tells you something about register: he made Cruel Intentions, and he has a long track record with the elite-school setting and the manipulation it enables.
The Wattpad pipeline
The source is a novel by Stefania S., read more than 23 million times on Wattpad before any studio was involved. That is the whole business case: the audience arrives pre-built, having already decided the story works.
Amazon MGM Studios co-produced with Lotus Production, with support from WEBTOON Productions — an Italian original shot in English for a global release rather than a local one. It is the same playbook that made Maxton Hall travel, and viewers who liked that will recognise the shape of this one.
