Wildfire drama Fire Country returns with season 4 on Paramount+, and this new chapter leans hard into grief, second chances and the cost of leadership in the fire line. Starting February 23, nine episodes drop at once, followed by a weekly rollout that keeps the tension burning over time.

How to watch Fire Country season 4 on streaming

Season 4 of Fire Country arrives on Paramount+ on February 23. At launch, viewers get immediate access to the first nine episodes, then the season continues with one new episode each week. The show, created by Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan and Joan Rater, keeps following its core community of firefighters as they face both raging blazes and the fallout of past decisions.

Season 4 picks up in the shadow of a major loss

The new episodes don’t hit a reset button; instead, they open directly after the shocking events that closed season 3. The death of battalion chief Vince Leone, a central pillar of Station 42, hangs over every storyline. His absence reshapes daily life at the station and within his family, forcing everyone to rethink where they stand and what kind of firefighter—and person—they want to be.

Bode Donovan steps into this new era as a full-fledged Cal Fire firefighter. Carrying Vince’s legacy, he continues his personal journey toward redemption, while the show widens its focus to the larger group dynamics in Edgewater and Three Rock. Season 4 leans into how a team rebuilds after losing one of its anchors and what it means to move forward without forgetting.

The cast shake-up that redefines Station 42

Season 4 doesn’t just shift emotionally; it also brings real changes in the cast. Billy Burke, who played Vince Leone, exits the screen after the dramatic resolution at the end of the previous season. That departure removes a long-standing authority figure from the heart of the series.

Another major change comes with Gabriela Perez. Stephanie Arcila, who portrayed her, leaves early in the new season. In the story, Gabriela heads out on a national recruitment mission for Cal Fire, taking her away from daily life at Station 42 and Three Rock and opening space for new dynamics to emerge.

To stabilize a shaken unit, a new battalion chief steps in. Shawn Hatosy joins the cast as Brett Richards, an interim leader tasked with restructuring a team still reeling from recent losses. His arrival brings a different style of command and sets up fresh tensions, alliances and tests of loyalty.

Main characters in season 4

  • Max Thieriot as Bode Donovan
  • Kevin Alejandro as Manny Perez
  • Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford
  • Diane Farr as Sharon Leone
  • Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards
  • Shawn Hatosy as Brett Richards

Why the wildfire setting still matters

Fire Country keeps its core concept intact in season 4. The series continues to draw from California’s real conservation camp program, where incarcerated people are deployed alongside professional firefighters to combat wildfires. The new season pushes deeper into the collective side of that world, focusing on chain of command, the weight of trauma and the way knowledge and responsibility are passed down from one generation of firefighters to the next.

The format remains consistent: episodes run around 44 minutes and blend high-intensity rescue operations with grounded human conflicts and high-stakes moral choices that leave lasting scars. Between infernos, personal crises and institutional pressures, the show explores what it really means to earn a second chance when danger is never far away.

With its staggered release schedule on Paramount+, season 4 invites viewers to reconnect week after week with a series that uses the constant threat of fire to question redemption, legacy and the price of starting over.

Fire Country season 4 is available starting February 23 on Paramount+, with one new episode every week after the initial nine-episode drop.
